SearchingForAMate.com is the best place to find information and other people for love and dating! It’s also the best place to find articles and information about anything to do with relationships! Without registering or logging in, you can browse posts for information, products, and professional therapy, or conduct a keyword search across our entire site to find exactly the information, product, or service you are searching for. We also have an advanced search section which allows you to search by specific categories.

Additionally, some user-members will have a Shopping Cart so you can purchase books, services or products from them. The funds are held by SearchingForAMate.com until the user has delivered the product or service to you. Only then is your payment released to the vendor.

Once you register and login, you may create a post, and/or comment on one another’s posts as either a means of getting in touch for romance, friendship, or as an evaluation of a product, service, or article written by the author. If you would like to make your comment to another user private so that only he or she can view it, you can check the “Whisper” box next to your comment.

Finally, in addition to comments, all visitors are encouraged to rate one another’s posts using our 10 star rating system, which totals and averages out each posts score. Ratings systems are a great way to give each other positive or negative feedback on posts.

Simple Guide

1. The first step, of course, is to Register. Simply click on the Registration link at the top of the page and you will be asked to choose a Username and enter your email address. Your Password will then be emailed to you.

2. Next, simply log into the site using your Username and assigned Password and this will take you to your “Dashboard.”

3. After logging in for the first time, we recommend clicking on the “Profile” link to describe yourself and what you are searching for on the site. Some visitors may be here to find romance or relationship advice. Others may be here to offer advice, or sell products and services to assist in relationship building. You may include your email address and a personal or professional web site address. All information entered here will be displayed in the Mate Book.

4. Now, not only are you able to comment on other user’s posts, you are able to author posts yourself! Here is where the real fun begins! Simply click the “Add New” link in the Posts section of your Dashboard. SearchingForaMate.com offers registered users a variety of tools to enhance your posts and get you noticed! These tools include:

  1. Just click on the “Add an Image” link next to the Upload/Insert text above your edit window. You can choose either “From Computer”, “From URL” or “Media Library”, then follow the simple instructions. [↩]
  2. Simply click on one of the “Embed Video” links in the edit window, and enter the URL at which the video can be viewed. [↩]
  3. Just click on the “Add Audio” link next to the Upload/Insert text above your edit window. You can choose either “From Computer”, “From URL” or “Media Library”, then follow the simple instructions. [↩]
  4. If you have products or services to sell, you can simply click on the Shopping Cart icon on your editor to add this feature to your post. You will then be prompted to enter the name and price of the product, as well as any related shipping and handling charge. We recommend that in your post, you include photos and/or video, full details, and a price in your description of your product or service. [↩]
  5. If you would only like persons who have been given a password to read your post, simply change the Visibility status of the post in the Publish section of the right sidebar menu. [↩]
